The various improvements that will be coming to Warframe on the PlayStation 5 have been detailed in a blog post to the PlayStation Blog by the game’s lead producer, Dave Kudirka.

The most obvious improvement will be how the game looks and performs on Sony’s powerful new system. Dynamic lighting brings a huge boost to Warframe’s visuals, adding more life, depth, and realism to the environments. The PS5 version will also run up to 4K and 60FPS, for smooth moment to moment gameplay.

Textures throughout the game have also been remastered, which also reduces the install size of the game so you save on SSD space. Speaking of SSDs, load times will also improve dramatically, with the example shown in the trailer shaving about 75% of the load time off the move from Cetus into the Plains of Eidolon, one of the game’s open-world areas.

Your profile stays with you if you move to PlayStation 5, so all your hard-earned loot, Prime weapons and Warframes, and Clan progress will remain untouched. You’ll be able to play with people on PlayStation 4, so there will be no need to say goodbye to your favorite Tenno, either.

A Progress Activities feature will allow you to keep track of your achievements, rewards, and progress, while the Challenge Activities feature will allow you to load straight into certain segments of the game, starting with Sanctuary Onslaught.

While the DualSense controller will play an important roll when the game launches, Digital Extremes plan to get even more out of it in the future, bringing set vibration patterns based on weapons, movements, and the environment you are in.

While there is no set release date for Warframe on the PlayStation 5 yet, it certainly seems like Digital Extremes plan to take advantage of all the console has to offer.
